The name “Zipporah Rivière” came from what I wanted this blog to be about. There are two definitions of Zipporah, one of them meaning “beauty” (which works for a fashion blog) and the other meaning “bird”. Which to me implies flying and spreading of wings. Rivière is French for “river” to imply how it flows and changes in the course of time. Both of these names empower freedom to me and the suggestion that what you put on your body is all about how you feel and how you want to present yourself. Moving quickly like a bird switching directions or a river bubbling along, fashion is ALL about change and throughout our life we obviously change too. Our society changes which impacts the way we dress, talk, what we choose to read, and other ways of communication.
Hi, I’m Halley. I love cheetahs, crème brûlée, and of course fashion. I was born at the end of August in West Coast, California and I love to travel and make up stories in each place I go to. It makes it more enchanting. One of my favorite things in life is art and it always amazes me that it has so many mediums. Art can be found anywhere at any given time or place. It’s all around us and obviously my very favorite form of art is in fashion. I just love how it can really change a person and impact their mood to make them feel amazing and focused. As if you can conquer the world in the right pair of shoes or pants. You feel all kick ass and shit.
I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing and it has been my ticket to learn and expand. It’s already taken me to many exciting places and I can’t wait to see it all pay off one day so I can just do everything I’m passionate about and live life.
I’m excited for a lot of things. Whether it’s waiting for it to be cool enough outside to wear my favorite trench coat and roast marshmallows, or waiting for it to be warm enough to pick flowers and wear yellow dresses, or waiting for it to be Saturday so I can sleep in, I always try to look forward to something. It keeps you going. Thank you for reading this even if the only reason is because you were bored and had nothing else to do with your life.
